Skip Bin Permits- Where can I place my skip bin?
Skip bin hire services are essential to any construction, renovation, or demolition project. But where can you put your skip bin?
If you're doing a minor job that won't impact your local area, you can place it wherever you like! However, if your project will significantly impact the surrounding area—for example, if it involves knocking down trees or removing soil—you'll need to apply for a skip bin permit from your local Council.
Skip Bin Permits
Skip bin permits cover both the placement and disposal of skip bins. You must apply for these permits before placing your skip bin on public land (including roadsides) and private land owned by other people. Your application should include details about how long you expect to keep the skip bin there and what material will be inside it (such as wood waste). Once approved, this permit allows you to keep the skip bin there for as long as necessary while working on your project.
Where can I place my skip bin?
- Skip bins in Seaford can be placed on your driveway, in the front or back yard. If you are placing a skip bin on public property, you should ensure that you have permission from the Council.
- If you are placing your skip bin on private property, it must be at least 2 metres away from any structure and at least 4 metres away from neighbouring properties. The skip bin must also maintain access to your home or business.
- You can ask us to place your skip bin on the footpath if there is no room on your property. In this case, we will need to apply for a permit from Council before we can do this.
- If you want to save money, choose a site close to your home or business. If you have an adjacent property, this would be ideal as long as there is no disruption from other companies nearby. You can also choose a site that is not visible from any public roads so that passers-by don't see what's inside your skip bin and try to steal some of its contents!
